A beautiful, historic city
San Juan is such a walkable city with so much history packed into it. We loved exploring Old San Juan, the blue cobblestones are beautiful. The forts are massive and offer amazing ocean views. It felt safe and everyone was welcoming.
Perfect beach vacation
Just a perfect beach getaway. The water at Condado Beach was warm and clear, ideal for just floating around. Plenty of places to get a drink or a quick bite right off the sand. It's an easy trip for some serious sun and relaxation.
Great food and local art
San Juan has an incredible arts and food scene. We spent a lot of time around Calle Loíza, checking out the murals and small shops. Finally got to try some authentic mofongo and it was delicious! The city has so much local character.
So much history to see
The history here is just amazing. Standing on the walls of El Morro, looking out at the sea, you can really feel the centuries of stories. It's so well-preserved. It's much more than just a beach destination; the historical sites are a must-see.
Fantastic nightlife
The city really comes alive at night. We had a great time at La Placita de Santurce, where the streets fill up with people dancing and music playing from all the bars. It felt like a huge block party. A really fun place to be after dark.
Great for the whole family
A wonderful place for a family trip. The kids had a blast running around the huge lawn in front of the Castillo San Cristóbal. Everything felt easy to get to, and the combination of beach time and historical exploring kept everyone happy.
